About Us
What do we do?
We are a group of British born Asians who felt that there wasn’t enough done to advocate against Asian prejudice and lack of Asian representation in media, therefore we decided to take it into our own hands and create The Asian Voice.
Our team believes our social impact can be a powerful voice of hope in creating a difference in people’s lives and demonstrating that change is possible. Our aim is to inspire those from all backgrounds and races, to spread awareness and start the conversation about this issue.
Our Story
Our idea is to create a social enterprise business that is focused on spreading awareness regarding Asian culture and racism towards Asian. Especially since the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic, there was a huge rise in Asian hate crimes, due the virus originating from China. As a result, has led to the casual references of COVID 19 being “the China virus”. Casual racism towards Asians has been an underlying issue that many Asian have faced, causing it to be normalised. Due to the subtle uses of racism in society whether it be for “banter” or pointing out typical stereotypes of Asians. We all have been subjected to stereotypes and casual racism, however, we wish to take a stand, to lead, to inspire others that you can call others out on their offensive behaviour.
